{"id":606,"date":"2017-08-13T14:28:59","date_gmt":"2017-08-13T22:28:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wonghoi.humgar.com\/blog\/?p=606"},"modified":"2017-08-13T14:28:59","modified_gmt":"2017-08-13T22:28:59","slug":"emc-pcb-layout-notes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wonghoi.humgar.com\/blog\/2017\/08\/13\/emc-pcb-layout-notes\/","title":{"rendered":"EMC PCB Layout Notes"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Implicit RLC (potentially filters) and antennas formed by traces<\/li>\n<li>Large ground\/voltage planes serves as EMI shield, low impedance path current sink<\/li>\n<li>True differential signals can be generated by current sources<\/li>\n<li>Decouple with ferrite beads if radiation inevitable by geometry\/placement<\/li>\n<li>Avoid \/ minimize large current swings on analog plane (e.g. buffer digital signals)<\/li>\n<li>Star ground when splitting sections: don&#8217;t let heavy digital current sink through analog ground by cascading the grounds.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t really need to split planes as long as large digital current&#8217;s preferred return paths are localized and far away from the analog section.<\/li>\n<li>AGND\/DGND refers to the grounds responsible for different sections of a mixed-signal IC. Has nothing to do with which actual ground to tie to.
