Subfolders are internally accessed as <code>Inbox.Sent<\/code>, <code>Inbox.Drafts<\/code>, etc. Using DOT (.) as seperator! Do not use slash like Gmail. It doesn&#8217;t work!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you specify the &#8220;<em>Root folder path<\/em>&#8221; and have the special folders relative to that, the Windows Live Mail client will show a <strong>flat<\/strong> layout (Just like the webmail client):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"127\" height=\"128\" src=\"https:\/\/wonghoi.humgar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2346\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, I tried entering the special folders&#8217;s full path individually one by one<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"367\" height=\"448\" src=\"https:\/\/wonghoi.humgar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/image-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2347\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wonghoi.humgar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/image-5.png 367w, https:\/\/wonghoi.humgar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/image-5-246x300.png 246w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 367px) 100vw, 367px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>but I&#8217;m pleased to see that doing so VISUALLY placed ALL folders (system or use-created) into a nice tree structure that follows its native structure!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"155\" height=\"129\" src=\"https:\/\/wonghoi.humgar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/image-6.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2348\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Having a root folder &#8220;<code>Inbox<\/code>&#8221; implied a prefix &#8220;<code>Inbox.<\/code>&#8221; (with the dot at the end) to all special folders path. Again, slash do not work as it&#8217;s not Gmail. The separator is dot in cPanel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seems like the whether &#8216;<em>Root folder path<\/em>&#8216; is specified determines if the folders are flattened or have the native tree structure in Windows Live Mail&#8217;s display. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special folders settings can be invalid, which the Windows Live Mail Client will <strong>quietly<\/strong> ignore them and operate in <strong>local <\/strong>storage folders instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How did I discovered it?
